Once you've done this, you'll be able to choose from a huge array of emojis, including the popular heart emoji, shrug emoji, facepalm emoji, and even clown emoji! We've already gone over how to turn off iPhone emoji and how to make Memoji and Animoji stickers. Now, here's how to add emojis to text messages with the emoji keyboard.

If you have an iPhone, you have the ability to send short video and audio messages right from a text message. This could be useful for sharing video or audio of where you are or what you’re doing with a friend without opening your camera or recording audio in the Voice Memos iOS app. You can even set messages you send or receive to go away after two minutes (the default) or to stick around on your iPhone for a year. (Note that this will not determine how long the messages stay on a recipient's or other sender's phone.)

Sometimes, you just don’t have time to answer the phone. Especially if you’re driving, it’s often safer to quickly pull over and send an iPhone automated message to let the person know you’ll call them back later. This function is accessible right from the call screen with different messages prepared for quick sending. Here’s how to answer a call with a text message if you happen to be busy.

Are you wondering how to create a group text? You don't need to look for a free chat app; you can create group messages to keep in contact with multiple people simultaneously in the Messages app on your iPhone. You can even hold group chats with contacts that don’t use an iPhone—you just won’t be able to add anyone to a group chat unless it’s comprised of all iPhone users with iMessage enabled. Group texts can easily get out of hand when there are lots of people in one, but they’re fantastic for sharing information that multiple people need to know in a single message. We've already covered how to name a group text, and how to leave a group text; here’s how to create group messages on your iPhone.

If you travel or do business internationally, you know how costly roaming charges are. Unless your mobile carrier is T-mobile (limited to 2G data speed), you need an additional service plan for international texting. AT&T international texting costs $10 a month, as does Sprint, but don't worry; you can text free in Italy, Germany, the Philipines, or almost any other country you can think of with iMessages. With iMessage, you can text from anywhere for free, as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection and the person you're messaging also has an iPhone or Mac. If you want to be able to internationally text friends without iPhones for free, you'll need a free texting app. Let's get started learning how to avoid monstrous phone bills by sending free iMessages, or using a free text app!

What's the difference between text messaging and iMessages? Text messaging requires that you have a cellular plan while iMessages allow you to send messages using your cellular data or Wi-Fi. This is especially handy if you're travelling internationally with only a Wi-Fi connection, or if you want to send messages from an Apple device without cellular connectivity. If the message you send is blue, it's an iMessage; if green, it's a text message. Here's how to set iMessages up if you  haven't already.

We've already gone over how to use a call blocker to stop unknown callers, and how to know if someone blocked your number, so now let's talk about how to stop unwanted messages or phone calls on your iPhone. Enabling call blocking for a specific number on your Apple device means you will no longer receive phone calls, FaceTime calls, text messages, or iMessages from that number.
